Home to the Griffin family from the early 1900's to the 1980's

Lunsford Griffin was born in Nash Co., North Carolina. He married Eleanor Fausett in 1827. They lived in Laurens Co., Georgia where they had seven children. They moved to Pike Co., Alabama where they had five more children, one of which was William Henry Griffin born September 1846.

William Henry Griffin married Elizabeth or Betsy Ann McLendon January 1868 and had nine children. One of the nine children was William Zachariah "WZ" Griffin. They later moved to Greenwood Co., Arkansas.   WZ Griffin married Della Cardin February 1894. They had five children, one of which was my grandfather William Melvin Griffin. William Melvin Griffin married Ina Sheppard and had six children.

Sometime in the early 1900's WZ and family bought a farm in Muskogee Co., Oklahoma a couple of miles north of Porum. That location on state highway 2 later became a bus stop known as "Griffin's Corner".
